How to Move Birds Into A New House

Don’t Mix the Flocks.
No adding of birds reared in a cage. They are not trained to jump as they need to do in aviary systems.

Move the pullets at an early stage.
2 weeks before the first eggs are laid (16 weeks of age) so they can get used to the new house.

Move the birds in the 1st manure belt level.
Or any level with feed and water. Not in the litter area.

Move the birds in the middle of the division.
DO NOT move in them close to the transversal partition, in order to avoid any mortality due to suffocation.

Have no access to the litter area during the first days.
So avoiding birds gathering with the consequent danger of piling or getting crushed in corners.

Fill the feed troughs and drinking lines.
This allows birds to find them full since the beginning.

Frequently run the feeding lines.
To encourage feed intake.

Switch the light on for 24 hours
So birds can get a better orientation when entering the first time.
